Onslaught of 'Pour Your Own Beer' Tables in Philadelphia Area Makes for Lots of Happy Bar Patrons

Earlier this week two of Ellickson USA's mobile Draft Tables made an appearance in the Villanova area local establishment, Flip and Bailey's. This seems to be a growing trend in the Philly region as we have seen them pop up at 'Xfinity Live', the behemoth sports bar complex in the South Philly Stadium complex as well as 'Rebel' on Spring Garden St, Dave & Buster's on Delaware Avenue and Plymouth Meeting and there are rumors of more downtown this Summer so the trend is growing.

It seems this is not just a regional trend. Newport Beachs Newest Bar, Tap Shack, Allows Patrons to Pour Your Own Beer

Its not every day that a bar allows patrons to pour their own beer, but at the Tap Shack in Newport Beach, CA customers will see a lot more of those days. This month, the Tap Shack debuted two new self-service beer columns and two mobile Draft Table tables from Ellickson Beverage Systems USA, the leading provider of innovative technologies that enhance the commercial performance and social dynamic of bars, restaurants, and other establishments.

As one of the newest bars to hit Newport Beach, Tap Shack was looking to spice up the bar scene and offer locals a cutting-edge place to hang with friends and family. The new Draft Tables enable patrons to pour their own beer with 20 different beers on tap in a highly controlled environment. Each table comes equipped with two taps on a rotating tower so customers simply twist the taps toward themselves and pour.

When we looked to open Tap Shack, we wanted to give local bar goers something fun and new, stated Eli Atol, one of the owners of Tap Shack. Self-service beer is ingenious. With the Draft Tables, our staff is able to easily control the amount of beer dispensed and to whom (legal age is still required!) in a legal and responsible way. Located on the bars outside patio, the Draft Tables are monitored by the ounce and are operated by an i-button that allow staff to permit and limit the amount of beer that can be self-served. With a tap of the button, customers can open the tap and pour what they would like, up to a two beer limit.
